Oleksiy Palchykov was born in Kiev and studied trumpet and choral singing in his home town, before honing his skills at the Tchaikovsky National Music Academy under Petr Koval.

In 2010, he won the Grand Prix at the XVI Lydia Abramova International Vocal Student’s competition « Bella Voce » in Moscow, the Grand Prix at the International Vocal Competition« Ivana Alchevskogo » in Kharkov and the Special Jury Prize at the International Classical Singing Competition for young opera singers in Weikersheim in Germany. In the same year, he also won the Orchestra Prize at the Great Tenors Tournament in Szczecin, Poland.

He was a finalist in the Cardiff Singer of the World competition in 2015.

In 2012, he joined the Atelier Lyrique of the Opéra national de Paris.

His engagements have allowed him to sing the roles of Gernando (Haydn’s L’isola disabitata) in Noisiel and Chatenay-Malabry, Ecclitico (Haydn ‘s Il mondo della luna), Male Chorus (The rape of Lucretia), Lensky (Eugene Onegin) at the National Theatre of Ukraine Kiev, Lykov (The Tsar’s Bride), Alfredo (La Traviata) with the Kiev Musical theater on tour in Switzerland, Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) in Paris-Bobigny, a Messaggero (Aida) as well as Scaramuccio (Ariadne auf Naxos) in Paris-Bastille, Pylade (Iphigénie en Tauride) in Saint-Quentin en Yvelines, Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte) in Paris–Créteil, Lensky (Eugene Onegin) at the Garsington Festival, Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor)  at the Opéra National de Paris – Bastille, Zinovyi (Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk) and Arturo (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Zürich, Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail) in Toulon, Gritsko (The Fair at Sorochyntsi, Moussorgski) at the Komische Oper Berlin, Lensky (Eugene Oneguin) at the Edinburgh International Festival, Saint-Saëns’ Oratorio de Noël and Janacek’s Otcenás with the Münchner Rundfunkorchester, Cassio (Otello) in Munich, Lensky (Eugene Onegin) and Fenton (Falstaff) at the Komische Oper Berlin, Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) in Zürich…

In May 2017, he joined the Hamburg Staatsoper Ensemble, where he has sung Tamino (Die Zauberflöte), Eurimaco (Il ritorno d’Ulysse), Paris (La Belle Hélène), Almaviva (il Barbiere di Siviglia), Lysander (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Britten), Cassio (Otello), Beppe (I Pagliacci), Froh (Das Rheingold), Lensky (Eugene Oneguin), Kudrjas (Katya Kabanova), Ferrando (Cosi fan tutte), Fenton (Falstaff), Edgardo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Alfred (Die Fledermaus).

In concert, he has performed Handel’s Messiah, Bruckner’s Te Deum, Beethoven’s Mass in C major, Bach’s Magnificat.

Productions cancelled during the Covid crisis : Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) in Munich, Tsarevich Gvidon (The Golden Cockerel) at the Festival d’Aix-en-Provence, Nemorino (L’Elisir d’amore) and Beppe / Arlecchino (I Pagliacci) in Hamburg, Narraboth (Salome) at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées in Paris, Fenton (Falstaff) in Montpellier.

His projects for the 2022/23 season and the following ones : Belmonte (Die Entführung aus dem Serail), Tamino (Die Zauberflöte) and Rinuccio (Gianni Schicchi) in Hamburg, Mozart’s Requiem (directed by Stéphane Braunschweig) at the Opéra de Bordeaux, Don Ottavio (Don Giovanni) at the Glyndebourne Festival, Saëb (Barkouf) in Zürich…
