Doris Lamprecht

Mezzo-soprano

After studying at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris under Jane Berbié, then at the Ecole d’Art Lyrique of the Opéra de Paris, Doris Lamprecht swiftly made her mark with her stage and vocal presence in a very extensive repertoire ranging from Monteverdi, Bach and Handel to contemporary composers.

Equally at home in Italian, French or German, she has won plaudits for her performances in works by Verdi (Rigoletto in Strasbourg, La Traviata in Orange), by Offenbach (Les Brigands in Bastille Opera in Paris, La Belle Hélène in Zurich conducted by Nikolaus Harnoncourt, La Périchole in Marseille, La Vie Parisienne in Tours, by Mozart (Die Zauberflöte in Aix-en-Provence, Lyon and Orange), by Berg (Lulu in Metz).

Her career spans a multitude of roles: The Gingerbread Witch (Hänsel und Gretel) à L’Opéra de Paris, Dame Marthe (Faust) in Amsterdam and Paris, Junon (Platée) at the Opéra de Paris, Gertrude (Hamlet), Marcellina (Le Nozze di Figaro), Larina (Eugen Onegin) in Strasbourg, Geneva, Nice and Munich, Brigitta (Die Tote Stadt) at the Opéra de Paris, Madame de Croissy (Dialogues des Carmélites) in Nantes and Angers, Madame de la Haltière (Cendrillon) at the Liceu in Barcelona, Mme Pichard and Soeur Opportune (Les Mousquetaires au Couvent) at the Opéra Comique in Paris, Hedwige (Guillaume Tell) in Geneva, L’opinion Publique (Orphée aux Enfers) in Nancy and Montpellier, Jacqueline (Le médecin malgré lui) in Geneva, Mrs Tschang (Der Kreidekreis) at the Opéra National de Lyon, the Countess Stasa Kokozow (Der Graf von Luxemburg) in Dusseldorf, Larina (Eugene Onegin) at the Opéra de Strasbourg…
